Every day 10 families are told that their child has cancer. Diagnosis often comes as a shock. Treatment usually starts straightaway and can last up to three years. As the children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent is there… with clinical, practical and emotional support, every step of the way.
- During treatment – providing specialist nurses, play specialists, Homes from Home
- In hospital & at home – offering specialist social care and support in the community tailored to the needs of children and young people, and their families
- Additional support – free accommodation in our Homes from Home near the main treatment centres as well as holidays, grants and our helpline
- After treatment – helping survivors, supporting those bereaved
Why CLIC Sargent needs your support
Today we can only help two out of three families who need us. That’s why we need you to take part for us. Your support will help us fund whole range of services right across the UK, including CLIC Sargent Nurses.
Taking part for us
CLIC Sargent Nurses are specially trained children’s cancer nurses. They are at the heart of our work, and part of our specialist care teams across the UK. To support our nurses, we are encouraging CLIC Sargent participants to dress as a nurse on the day. You can support our theme as much or as little as you wish, but you will be sure to make an impact!
