DELAMERE FOREST PARK
Saturday 1st November 2014
Wave 1 – 10:00am
Wave 2 – 10:30am
The Brooks HellRunner is over multi-terrain and varying underfoot conditions. There will be everything from running tracks and trails to water-filled areas and plenty of steep hills. Expect to get very wet! It will be nature at its toughest. The course will be marked but do not expect to see mile or kilometre markers (that’s for those softy road running types). All you need to know is that the course will be probably more than 10 and less than 12 miles in length. Hey! With what we have in store, who’s counting?
IT IS NOT NECESSARY THAT YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SWIM BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THE COURSE MAY WELL BE UNEVEN, SLIPPERY, STONY AND WET.
The Brooks HellRunner – We’re talking REAL TRAIL RUNNING!
Hell Up North takes place in Delamere Forest Park, Delamere, Cheshire, CW8 2JD
Event Car Parking
Special free parking has been secured on an old, hard-standing, quarry area opposite Delamere Station.
Upon arrival please follow the HellRunner Event Parking Signage and steward instructions.
Parking on any other part of Forestry Commission land will be subject to car parking charges.
The popularity of the Brooks HellRunner may lead to some delays upon arrival and departure. In thanking you for your patience and understanding, please ensure you leave plenty of time to allow for any delays in your journey.
ADVISORY NOTE: the distance between the event parking area and the actual event start / finish area is over 1km.
If you have purchased an additional t-shirt during your entry process, either on its own or as part of the platinum package then please note that these will be available for collection at the signed area of the white Registration marquee using your voucher. This will have been included in your pack. If you fail to collect your shirt or remedy any sizing issues on the day then you will incur a fee to get this changed after the event.
There will be a manned baggage area close to the Start / Finish. Please note that we cannot guarantee the safety of any item(s) left in this area.
There will be a small changing area inside the event marquee at the start/finish area. However, we recommend that all runners arrive at the event already changed and bring additional warm and dry items to put on for your return journey. We regret that there are NO SHOWER facilities on site at the venue.
Timing & Results
There will be a race clock at the start / finish line. Provisional results will appear at the results page by the evening following each event, but remember NO CHIP = NO TIME.
Timing chips must be attached to your shoe and NOT to any other part of your body.
Extensive race pictures will be available to view and purchase after the event. For more details, visit the results & photos page.
Medical support will be present on the course and at the finish. You should be relatively fit and have no known medical conditions. Please note – do not run with a cold or flu. This can be extremely dangerous.
Toilet facilities will be available (especially for those of a nervous disposition!) but we encourage all competitors to make use of any alternative toilet facilities en route to the event. May we ask all competitors to be respectful of the local environment, facilities and other competitors in all sanitary matters!
One drinks station will be at about the halfway point and another at the finish. However, please bring your own water to drink before and after the event start.
Goody Bag & Survivor’s Medal
An event goody bag and survivor’s medal will be handed out close to the finish funnel. This will include your special souvenir Brooks HellRunner tee shirt and some other goodies!
The first 3 men & first 3 women across the line in Wave 1 will be awarded prizes on the day at the venue. There will be NO age-group prizes as in previous years. Prize winners will be issued with their prize on the day and if they are not present will be notified by post within one week of the event.
The exact presentation time will be announced on the day itself.
Hot food and drinks will be available for purchase at the venue.
Additionally, the Vale Royal Abbey Arms is offering a 10% food / bar discount to all HellRunners. Offer valid from Friday evening (Nov 2nd) to Sunday evening (Nov 4th). To claim your discount please quote “Brooks HellRunner 2012”
The pub couldn’t be more conveniently placed, just a mile from Delamere station on the Chester Road.
