Please note that the Hell Down South events originally scheduled for 23rd and 24th November 2013 have had to be moved to Saturday 4th January 2014 due to military troops being on base during the original dates. Anyone who has already entered has been contacted to advise them of their options.
Getting there and Event Parking
The Brooks HellRunner Hell Down South takes place at Longmoor Military Training Camp, near Bordon in Hampshire. Entry and exit from the event will be via the ‘GRIGGS GREEN’ exit off the A3. It will be signed Griggs Green if travelling south along the A3 and ‘Griggs Green and Liphook’ if travelling north.
DO NOT attempt to enter via the main Longmoor Training Camp entrance, unless you have a DISABLED PARKING PASS.
A one-way traffic system will be in operation during the event. From 07.30hrs vehicles should follow the signs from the Griggs Green junction and enter the marshal controlled access point into the Longmoor Camp Training Area. Follow the signs and marshal directions to the ‘Airstrip’ area where you should park your vehicle as per the stewards’ instructions.
VEHICLES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THIS AREA UNTIL 11.00hrs AT WHICH POINT THE ONE-WAY TRAFFIC FLOW WILL BE REVERSED.
IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT ANY SPECTATOR VEHICLES ARRIVE ON SITE BEFORE 10.15hrs OTHERWISE THEY WILL BE REFUSED ENTRY.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SIGNED EVENT START AND FINISH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY a 3/4MILE WALK FROM THE CAR PARK
The popularity of the Brooks HellRunner may lead to some delays upon arrival and departure. In thanking you for your patience and understanding, please ensure you arrive nice and early on the morning of the event.
Taxis and Disabled Parking
Taxis
Runners arriving by taxi should instruct their driver to drop them off outside the main Guardroom at the entrance to Longmoor Camp. You will then be required to walk the c 800, signed route to the main event hub.
Disabled Parking
Bona fide disabled spectators (with their vehicles) shall be allowed to access the event via the main entrance to Longmoor Camp so long as they have applied for a parking permit in advance.
Permits can be obtained by emailing info@trailplus.com stating the name of the runner and vehicle registration number.
Please follow the marshal instructions upon entry.
Start Time
The Brooks HellRunner™event will start at 10.30am. Please ensure sufficient time to make your way to the start from the event car parking areas.
YOU SHOULD ALLOW AT LEAST AN EXTRA 40 MINUTES IN YOUR TRAVEL PLANS DUE TO THE RESTRICTED VEHICLE ACCESS AND PARKING PROCEDURES IN OPERATION FOR THE EVENT.
Baggage
There will be a manned baggage area close to the Start / Finish. Please note that we cannot guarantee the safety of any item(s) left in this area. You should ensure that all items of left baggage are clearly marked with your race number.
Changing
There will be a small changing area within the Left Baggage marquee close to the start/finish area. A lot of people will choose to use this though so we strongly recommend that you arrive in your running clothes and bring additional warm and dry items to put on for your return journey. We regret that there are NO SHOWER facilities on site at the venue.
Timing & Results
There will be a race clock at the start / finish line. Provisional results will appear within 24 hours of each event at the results page, but remember NO CHIP = NO TIME.
Race Photography
Extensive race pictures will be available to view and purchase after the event.

First Aid
Medical support will be present on the course and at the finish. You should be relatively fit and have no known medical conditions. Please note – do not run with a cold or flu. This can be extremely dangerous.
Toilets
Toilet facilities will be available (especially for those of a nervous disposition!) but we encourage all competitors to make use of any alternative toilet facilities en route to the event. May we ask all competitors to be respectful of the local environment, facilities and other competitors in all sanitary matters!
Warning: any competitor caught urinating against any military building will face the possibility of disqualification from all future HellRunner events.
Water
One drinks station will be at about the halfway point and another at the finish. However, please bring your own water to drink before and after the event start. All competitors will also receive a complimentary sports nutrition refuelling drink provided by For Goodness Shakes.
Goody Bag & Survivor’s Medal
An event goody bag will be handed out close to the finish funnel. This will include your special souvenir Brooks HellRunner T-shirt and some other goodies! You will also receive your HellRunner survivor’s medal.
RUNNERS WHO DO NOT WEAR THEIR RACE NUMBER AND TIMING CHIP WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COLLECT A GOODY BAG.
Please check your t-shirt size immediately upon collection as we are unable to guarantee that we can exchange t-shirts after the event.
Prizes
Awards will be made as follows:
The fastest 3 men & first 3 women from Wave 1 runners. There will be NO age-group prizes as in previous years. Prize winners will be issued with their prize on the day and if they are not present will be notified by post within one week of the event.
Refreshments
Hot food and drinks will be available for purchase at the venue.
Your Race Number and Race Timing Device
These will be posted out no earlier than two weeks before the race and sent to the address you provided at the time of entry.
IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT WE HAVE YOUR CORRECT ADDRESS. IF REQUIRED, REPLACEMENT NUMBERS AND TIMING DEVICES WILL BE CHARGED AT £10.00 AND MADE AVAILABLE FOR COLLECTION ON THE MORNING OF THE RACE.
Race Transfers & Refund Policy
Any entrant wishing to switch their entry from Saturday to Sunday or vice versa shall be allowed to do so upon emailing such a request to info@trailplus.com and, subsequently, upon payment of a £7.50 administration charge. Please note that such requests for transfers are NOT guaranteed and will be entirely at the discretion of the event organisers.
We will be happy to offer a refund minus an admin fee of £7.50 for anyone wishing to withdraw from Hell Up North until FRIDAY 1ST NOVEMBER 2013.
After FRIDAY 1st NOVEMBER 2013 we regret that we will not be able to provide any refund or credit transfer or credit either in full or in part whatever the circumstances of the entrants’ non-attendance.
LITTLE DEVILS FUN RUN
Open to all ages, the Fun Run will commence at 10.00am sharp, with entries on the day being taken up until 09.45am. No timing chip will be issued for this but please ensure your allocated race number is worn. The Fun Run will be approximately 1.5miles in length.

HELL DOWN SOUTH CHECK LIST – DON’T FORGET!
- When you receive your race number pin it to your race vest….IMMEDIATELY!!!
- Keep your race timing device safe and securely attach to your race-day shoes.
- A full change of warm and dry clothing.
- Money for tea/coffee/food/kit.
- To eat a healthy meal and to avoid alcohol the night before the event.
- To eat something light and drink plenty of water prior to the event.
- Some toilet paper.
- And finally, your sense of humour!
